Babies, Outreach, Ministry and More!

 ELOISE CAROLINE GURR

We are so excited to announce the birth of our beautiful daughter, Eloise Caroline Gurr! She was born January 18th. We shared in our last update the complete creative miracle the Lord did to bring Eloise into existence, and it is an incredible blessing to get to visually witness our miracle every single day. We are so thankful to the Lord for what He has done for us!

ADOPTION UPDATE

We are continuing to move forward with the adoption and we can’t wait to bring home Eloise’s little brother or sister. We had to slow this process down during the pregnancy and birth, but the adoption process has picked back up and moving forward quickly. We continually covet your prayers and support to help bring our second baby home. We are hoping to bring home our new little one within the next six months. We so clearly heard the Lord speak to us about adopting and we know that He is walking with us every step of the way.

TESTIMONY

We have not traveled much due to Joanna having some complication before and after the birth, but we have had so many wonderful opportunities to serve here in Albany. A few months ago, Jon and his friend Bobby had a man approach them asking for money. They immediately noticed that the man had a very bad limp. It was a true “silver and gold have I none” moment as they offered to pray for his leg. The man responded saying that God would not heal him because of his history. Jon and Bobby talked to Him about the love and forgiveness of God and began to pray for him. To the man’s amazement, the pain in his leg left and he had full mobility! He was overwhelmed with the love of the Father. He then asked for more prayer because he had night terrors every night. They prayed for him, hugged him and went their separate ways. A few days later, Jon saw the man again and he was so excited to share that he had not had one night terror since the night they prayed. We continue to see him and, to this day, his leg is still pain free and he has not had another night terror.

WELLSPRING

We have been working to lead and serve an amazing group of people at WellSpring! We truly consider all of them family and it is such an honor that they are in our lives. They extended so much grace to us during this season as we were out of pocket quite a bit preparing for our little miracle to be born. God is doing such an incredible work in this amazing community.

JETHRO'S

We have been working with our non-profit, Jethro’s Coffee Company and Community Center. It is amazing to see all that God is doing. We had the opportunity at our city’s Christmas parade to serve coffee, love and prayer to people. Our Community Center hosted its first class. It was a songwriting workshop and it was amazing. We also have a free resume writing course through a partnership with our local Goodwill Career Center and some music events coming up soon! We continue to hear God calling us to sow into our city. We continue to build relationships within our community and gain favor with our city leaders. It is such an honor and privilege to serve the Lord in this way and to extend His kingdom creatively.

UPCOMING MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

We will be traveling to Texas again in June to minister at the On Earth Music Festival in Music Springs. It is always an incredible time and we are excited to see the miraculous ways God will touch lives. We will be taking a team with us this year, and have the opportunity to minister at some other ministries in Texas while we are there.

We are excited to share that we are launching a new ministry called HOUSES OF ACTS. Houses of Acts are one-night meetings of worship, prayer and ministry designed to carry revival to homes. The kingdom of God is relational and the body of Christ is designed to be a family. There is something special about the body of Christ meeting and breaking bread in a home (Acts 2:46-47). Our desire is to see people come alive as they encounter the presence of the Holy Spirit and their homes become places of refreshing and revival.

If you are interested in hosting a “Houses of Acts” in your home you can email us at jonandjoannagurr@gmail.com.

PRAYER

We continue to ask for your prayers! Pray for the adoption process as things are moving quickly! Pray for all of the paperwork to go through and all the financial provision needed for the next step of the adoption. Pray for us and Eloise as we prepare to bring home a new little one and please pray for the birth mom and baby. Pray that we all would have peace during this whole process.

Please pray for guidance as we are being led into more ministry opportunities. It is becoming clear that God is calling us to spend more of our time in ministry. We ask you to pray that the Lord would give us wisdom on how to transition into that.

SUPPPORT

We also ask for your support. We are raising $1,000 to help with our ministry trips that are currently scheduled. We also ask you to prayerfully consider becoming a monthly supporter to our ministry. This would help us better cultivate, grow and steward the ministries we have in Albany, plus release us to expand the reach of theses ministries. We continue to be humbled and in awe of your incredible generosity through the years.

You can donate to our adoption fund by making checks payable to us directly, or you can donate online at paypal.me/babygurr.

If you would like to donate to our ministry, you can go to iwellspring.org/give and choose “Missions - Jon and Joanna” from the list.

We are so grateful for your continued prayers, love and support!

Love,
